The box was launched in the US last year and the company has announced that it is now available in Europe and the UK. Slingbox M1 allows you to watch your home TV channels on handheld devices at home or abroad.

The concept behind Slingbox is simple; it takes your TV channels and lets you watch wherever you are, even when abroad. You just need to connect it to your TV box at home and have an internet connection available.

Slingbox M1 supports WiFi and HD quality. You can watch your channels on PC/Mac, smartphone, tablet, and select Smart TVs via an app. It supports Airplay (not mirroring) and Chromecast, too. Sling Media says that it is also easier to install.

- "The Slingbox M1 sets a new standard for ease of set-up and use, while delivering incredible value for the pay-TV satellite subscribers that we have always targeted with our products and services. With a Slingbox M1 that has been completely localised for customers, we're delivering the most affordable Slingbox packed with the most robust set of features that we believe will significantly expand the mobile TV and video market." says Michael Hawkey, senior VP and general manager of Sling Media

The company explains that its Slingbox is the “only genuine "TV Anywhere" solution that is not limited by geo-blocking” and that it “can access 100% of a cable or satellite channel subscription”.

Slingbox M1 is available now in Europe and UK for Ł129.
