Loewe launches new "Reference" UHD TV

17 Jun 2015 | Rasmus Larsen |

Loewe’s latest TV is called Loewe Reference. It is an Ultra HD TV with a built-in soundbar, a premium design, and lots of hard drive-enabled features.

Calling it Reference might a bit over the top since the TV offers none of the true “reference” features of 2015 TVs such as HDR, but the new TV should still look quite impressive.

The TV currently exists in a 55-inch version, and a 65-inch version is coming later. Both of the TVs use an Ultra HD LCD panel and offer HDMI 2.0 inputs (with HDCP 2.2) for connecting future 4K players. HEVC is supported, too, but Loewe has not yet confirmed whether Netflix will be available in 4K.

Loewe says that its TV has a “timeless design“ because of its elegance and premium materials. It also has a built-in soundbar (2x60 Watts) and a 5.1 Dolby Digital decoder. An integrated 1TB hard drive allows you to record TV shows, and the triple-tuner enables you to start two recordings while watching a third show. You can even start recordings from your phone or stream recordings to other Loewe TVs in your house.

Loewe recently introduced a revamped operating system called Assist Media 2015. It is available in the Reference series, too. It is faster and offers access to apps such as Netflix and YouTube.

The new Reference is available now in 55 inches. You can choose between Aluminium Black, Aluminium Silver, High-Gloss White, and Dark Gold.
