LG 4K OLED (EG9600) received

26 Aug 2015 | Torben Rasmussen |

UPDATE: The specimen we received for review had been damaged during transport and LG in Sweden has requested the sample back. They are working on providing us with a fresh sample, but the current status is that it won't arrive until week 40.

We have received our first 4K OLED TV for testing. LG’s EG9600 (EG960V in Europe) also comes with the webOS 2.0 operating system. If there is anything you want us to examine during the review post a comment.

LG EG960V received

We have already reviewed several HD OLED TVs but this is the first time that we will examine a TV that combines OLED technology with 4K resolution. EG9600 is available in 55 and 65 inch sizes. It also comes with the webOS 2.0 operating system and HEVC and VP9 decoding for 4K streaming from Netflix and YouTube. A later update will add support for HDR (high dynamic range).
