LG will launch three new soundbars in 2016. SH8, SH7 and SH6 will improve the TV sound experience and feature support for wireless audio systems such as Bluetooth and Google Cast.
Soundbars with Google Cast
In early 2016, LG will expand its “Music Flow” line-up of multi-room speakers with three soundbars named SH8, SH7 and SH6. The first two have a wireless subwoofer, whereas the SH6 has a total of six speaker units built in.
The soundbars are sleek and flat. They can hang on the wall or lie on a shelf under the TV. LG says that setup is as simple as pressing one button – at least after you have connected the soundbar to the TV. There is an integrated Adaptive Sound Control (ASC) system, which LG says is designed to adjust the speaker output depending on the type of media.
All three soundbars feature Bluetooth and Google Cast, which makes it possible to wirelessly play music from iOS or Android smartphones or tablets. Google Cast is the same protocol, which powers the Chromecast products that were upgraded to support multi-room functionality a few days ago.
- “The Music Flow series has been a tremendous success in giving LG a significant footprint in the consumer audio business,” said Brian Kwon, CEO of LG Home Entertainment.
LG further says that the new soundbars will support its own "Auto Music Play" system, which is explained in the video at the bottom.
LG will reveal more specifications and details at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, which kicks off on January 6. The company’s curved soundbar will carry over into 2016.
