Bang & Olufsen has invited the press to see its new products on August 31, 2016 and it appears that the company will introduce new TVs. Danish website Recordere.dk has been doing some sleuthing and has found references to BeoVision 14, Avant NG, and a new "Horizon" TV. Android TV and new Bluetooth-enabled remote are also in the cards.
New TVs from B&O
It has been a while since Bang & Olufsen launched new TVs but it appears that three TV ranges are coming this autumn. References to the products have been found in customs documents, FCC, and other sources.
The first new TV is "BeoVision 14", which looks like a successor to BeoVision 11. Rumor has it that the basic design is more or less intact but that you will have the option to add wood panels, like the BeoLab 18 speakers. BeoVision 14 will reportedly also feature UHD resolution, Android TV, 4K Netflix, and a new Bluetooth-enabled "BeoRemote One BT". The customs documents refer to 40" BV14-40 and 55" BV14-55.
It appears that B&O will also launch a refreshed Avant TV. There are references to "BeoVision Avant NG". Bang & Olufsen has previously used NG as an abbreviation for "New Generation". Rumor has it that the new Avant will feature Android TV, BeoRemote One BT, and 4K Netflix. The design will remain largely unchanged except for a new rear plate and a new floor stand.
Lastly, there are references to a new "Horizon" TV in 40” and 48”. It is expected to be a successor to the “affordable” BeoPlay V1, which has been discontinued. The new “Horizon” TV will likely be part of the Bang & Olufsen line instead of the B&O Play line. The name Horizon is supported by the byline on B&O’s IFA invitation that reads: "To broaden your Horizon".
Android TV & new BeoRemote One
For now, everything is rumors and Bang & Olufsen has refused to comment on the matter. However, it seems pretty safe to assume that Android TV will be part of the Danish high-end manufacturer’s future.
Google has already confirmed that Bang & Olufsen is an Android TV partner. And the new "BeoRemote One BT" has passed through FCC that has published the following illustration.
Bang & Olufsen will unveil new products at IFA 2016 in Berlin on August 31. The Danish manufacturer has also confirmed that it intends to launch its first OLED TV in 2017.
