Bang & Olufsen has just announced BeoVision 14 but details on a much more affordable BeoVision Horizon have also been leaked by Danish website Recordere.

BeoVision Horizon

BeoVision Horizon will be officially announced in September at IFA 2016 but details have leaked ahead of the event. If we are to believe the information the TV will be available in 40 and 48 inch sizes and cost roughly half of BeoVision 14.

Bang & Olufsen hopes that Horizon can become a mass market product like its former picture tube TVs. It is also a successor to the BeoPlay V1 model that has been discontinued. The leaked photos of Horizon show a TV with a dark plastic frame and steel speaker grille. It comes with either a floor stand, table stand or wall bracket.

Inside it has an Ultra HD LCD panel and Google’s Android TV operating system – like BeoVision 14. It also comes included with the new “BeoRemote One Bluetooth”. If you connect a USB hard drive you can record TV programs.

The TV has 2x30W speakers and a built-in surround decoder. In addition, it supports wireless audio based on the WiSa standard, which is also implemented in most of Bang & Olufsen’s BeoLab speakers. With WiSa you can wirelessly transfer uncompressed audio from the TV to the living room speakers without delay. Horizon is also said to be equipped with four PowerLink connectors for wired BeoLab speakers and four HDMI inputs.

The report furthermore claims to know the Danish retail prices: 23.495 DKK in 40” and 33.995 DKK in 48”. For comparison, BeoVision 14 is available for 49.890 DKK in 40” and 66.890 DKK in 55” in Denmark, and 6.365 and 8.565 Euro, respectively, in Europe.

IFA 2016 in Berlin kicks off on September 2.
