Oppo UDP-203 with Dolby Vision

The Oppo UDP-203 naturally conforms to the UHD Blu-ray specification, meaning 4K resolution and HDR (High Dynamic Range), including an expanded color gamut. Besides that it also brings high-quality music playback to the table.

- “The OPPO UDP-203 provides an unmatched A/V experience to home theater enthusiasts. Drawing from over a decade's worth of experience in advanced image processing technology and high fidelity audio performance, the UDP-203 Ultra HD Blu-ray player is the ideal source to complete the ultimate home theater and sound room,.” the company wrote.

The company has also officially confirmed that “support for Dolby Vision will be available in the future via a firmware upgrade.” The firmware update will be released in “early 2017”. Compared to the open HDR10 format that is used in all UHD Blu-ray players to date, Dolby Vision adds support for 12-bit color depth and dynamic metadata.

Oppo says that “it is now available for pre-order” but adds that “the limit is 1 per customer” at the moment. The UDP-203 will “ship in 2 to 3 business days” and will set you back $549 dollars.
