After its succes with Roku TVs, TCL will be the launch partner for the Roku ”smart soundbar” that offers Roku’s voice assistant.
Control your TV, music
Along with new Roku TVs, TCL has at CES announced the ’TCL Alto Smart Soundbar’. It comes hot on the heels of Roku’s announcement of a voice assistant, multiroom features, and a reference design for soundbars.
- ”TCL is also excited to introduce the Alto Smart Soundbar with Roku Entertainment Assistant. This new soundbar will make adding great sound to a TCL Roku TV a breeze. Plus, it will feature the new Roku Entertainment Assistant built-in, allowing for seamless voice control of Roku devices in the home. Launch podcasts, playlists, movies and TV shows from your favorite services with a simple voice command, the company said.
The company explains that the soundbar will let you use Roku’s new voice assistant to control playback and find content on a Roku TV, even when the TV is turned off. It will also let you control music on the soundbar via your voice.
- ”The TCL Alto Smart Soundbar with Roku Entertainment Assistant will be compatible with any TV, but the experience will be even better when combined with TCL Roku TVs. By extending always-on voice and audio capabilities to the TV for more control and entertainment functionality, you'll enjoy a more immersive and convenient home theater,” TCL added.
The TCL Alto Smart Soundbar will be available in late 2018. Pricing details were not announced.
