John Paczkowski notes that Apple used the same tagline in 2006 for the event at which it previewed what would become Apple TV.
The company is planning to offer original movies and TV shows and has already announced a handful of shows, including a multi-year partnership with Oprah Winfrey and a partnership with Steven Spielberg. The content is expected to be available through a new version of Apple’s ‘TV’ app.
We also hope to learn more about Apple’s plans for AirPlay 2, HomeKit, and iTunes in TVs from LG, Samsung, Sony, and Vizio. FlatpanelsHD will not be in Cupertino but will be covering news from the event. It is happening on March 25 and will be live-streamed, including on Apple TV.
Disney and WarnerMedia will also launch video subscription services later this year.
