Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are amongst the first confirmed games for PlayStation 5. Watch the trailers to get a sense of the console's graphical performance.

PlayStation 5 games

At the launch event for PS5, Sony put the spotlight on 9 games from its own umbrella of studios along with games from other studios that are likely to appear on other consoles, too. Some of the highlights were Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Godfall, andHitman 3. Sony also showcased Grand Theft Auto 5, which will launch on PS5 with new features - yes, the game that originally launched for PS3. - "PlayStation Studios teams have been working hard to develop a wide range of amazing new experiences for PlayStation 5, all of which tap into PS5’s advanced features such as the ultra-fast SSD, the DualSense wireless controller, and 3D audio. We hope you enjoyed your first look at these titles as much as we have enjoyed working on PlayStation 5 to bring them to you," said Sony. In May 2020, Microsoft and partners unveiled the first 12 games for Xbox Series X. FlatpanelsHD has embedded the 27 game trailers that were showcased by Sony during or after the launch event, along with a brief description from Sony or the studio.

Horizon Forbidden West from Guerrilla Games Horizon Forbidden West continues Aloy’s story as she moves west to a far-future America to brave a majestic, but dangerous frontier where she’ll face awe-inspiring machines and mysterious new threats.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales from Insomniac Games and Marvel The latest adventure in the Spider-Man universe will build on and expand Marvel’s Spider-Man through an all-new story. Players will experience the rise of Miles Morales as he masters new powers to become his own Spider-Man. With PS5’s ultra-fast SSD, players can near-instantaneously fast-travel across Marvel’s New York City, or feel the tension of each one of Miles’s web-swings, punches, web shots, and venom blasts with the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback. Highly-detailed character models and enhanced visuals across the game intensify the story of Miles Morales as he faces great, new challenges while learning to be his own Spider-Man.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from Insomniac Games Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a brand new intergalactic adventure from Insomniac Games that showcases what’s possible for games designed around PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD and DualSense wireless controller. Players will seamlessly travel through different dimensions in mid-gameplay, thanks to PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD. The DualSense wireless controller brings combat to life, with haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers adding powerful sensations that increase immersion in combat.
Demon’s Souls from Japan Studio and Bluepoint Games From Japan Studio and Bluepoint Games comes a remake of the PlayStation classic, Demon’s Souls. In addition to beautiful shadow effects and ray tracing, players can choose between two graphics modes while playing: one focused on fidelity, and one focused on frame rate.
Gran Turismo 7 from Polyphony Digital From classic vehicles and tracks to the reintroduction of the legendary GT Simulation Mode – GT 7 brings together the best features from past installments of the series alongside the future. An even more realistic driving experience awaits thanks to haptic feedback, which brings to life what it’s like when the tires hit the road. PS5’s immersive 3D audio allows players to sense the position of other cars and drivers around them.
Sackboy A Big Adventure from Sumo Digital Iconic PlayStation hero Sackboy returns in an all-new 3D adventure with a deeply immersive and expressive control scheme. Players can go on this epic platforming journey solo-style, or they can team up with friends for collaborative, chaotic multiplayer fun.
Returnal from Housemarque Returnal transforms roguelike gameplay into a third-person shooter where players fight to survive a hostile planet that changes with every death. Players can switch instinctively between firing modes by using a single adaptive trigger and can get right back into the action after dying. PS5’s immersive 3D audio brings the alien world to life around the player, helping players navigate the intense positional combat.
Destruction All Stars from Lucid Games Destruction All Stars is an action-packed sports event that pits drivers against one another in an intense competition. The goal? Wreck as many cars as possible.
Astro’s Playroom from Japan Studios Astro and his crew lead you on a magical introduction through PS5 in this fun platformer that comes pre-loaded on PS5. Explore four worlds, each based on PS5’s console components. Each area showcases innovative gameplay that taps into the new features of the PS5’s DualSense wireless controller.
Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar Games From Rockstar: “Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 5 will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the console’s powerful new hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever. Plus, a new standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online will be also available, free for three months exclusively on PlayStation 5.” (PlayStation Plus required for online multiplayer)
Ghostwire: Tokyo from Tango Gameworks / Bethesda Softworks From Bethesda: “From Shinji Mikami and the team at Tango Gameworks comes Ghostwire: Tokyo, a next-gen action-adventure game coming to consoles exclusively for PlayStation 5 in 2021. Godfall from Counterplay Games From Counterplay Games: “You are the last of the Valorian knights, god-like warriors able to equip Valorplates, legendary armor sets that transform wielders into unstoppable masters of melee combat. Players will tear through foes as they climb through some of the elemental realms…. We’re still hard at work and can’t wait for players to experience Godfall when it makes its console debut on PS5 and launches on PC this holiday season.”

Hitman 3 from IO Interactive From IO Interactive: “Hitman 3 is the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy and will put you back into the shoes (and stylish suit) of Agent 47, a ruthless professional assassin who must take on the most important contracts of his career.”
NBA 2K21 from 2K Sports 2K Sports stopped by to give us an eye-popping first look at pre-alpha PS5 development footage of NBA 2K21.
Deathloop from Arkane Studios / Bethesda Softworks From Arkane Studios: “With stunning and stylish environments, memorable combat encounters, and the freedom to tackle each mission at any pace and with any approach you choose, this is Arkane like you’ve never seen (or felt) it before, built with next-gen in mind. Deathloop is being developed for a new generation of hardware and will launch on console exclusively for PlayStation 5.”
Resident Evil Village from Capcom From Capcom: “…the fear of dark corners has been replaced with the anxiety of the unknown as Ethan searches for answers within decrepit buildings among snow-covered trees. The return of a first-person perspective will bring a visceral edge to combat… With a greater focus on combat and exploration compared to Resident Evil 7, the village itself is just as important a character as any other, a location with a life of its own that will frequently keep you on edge as you discover its secrets.”

Little Devil Inside from Neostream Interactive Set in a “Victorian-like” era, embark on dangerous missions to gain evidence and findings for your employer, a mysterious professor.
Oddworld: Soulstorm from Oddworld Inhabitants A major visual and cinematic lead for the celebrated series, with intelligent new gameplay mechanics and twisted new devices to enable explosive deviousness. The Pathless from Giant Squid / Annapurna The mythic tale of an archer and an eagle in a vast forest who venture to a mystical island to dispel a curse of darkness.
Stray from BlueTwelve Studio / Annapurna A little cat in a futuristic walled city, devoid of life, befriends a sentient drone. The cat must find its way home, and perhaps help the city along the way.
Solar Ash from Heart Machine / Annapurna A journey through a surreal and vivid world filled with mystery, endearing characters, and massive enemy encounters across a vast open world.
