First official details about LG's 2021 G1 'OLED evo' TVs, new 83" size

LG has on Sunday unveiled the first details about its 2021 OLED TV line-up that will include G1 'OLED evo' TVs. LG also has a new 83-inch size and an Alpha 9 Gen4 processor, according LG via Korean media.

Ahead of its CES 2021 presentation tomorrow (Monday), LG Korea has revealed the first details about its 2021 OLED TVs. The 2021 OLED TV line-up is spearheaded by a new 'OLED evo', which is described as an upgraded, next-generation OLED panel. It will be named LG G1 and is the successor to last year's LG GX. - "The OLED evo emits light with more precise wavelength control, expressing a brighter and clearer picture quality compared to existing LG OLED screens," reports EKN.kr.

83-inch OLED, Alpha 9 Gen4

After expanding the line-up with a new 48-inch size last year, LG will launch a larger 83-inch OLED model this year. It is not surprising to see LG announce the larger 83-inch OLED TV as Sony announced on January 7 that it too is planning to launch its first 83-inch OLED TV LG told Korean media that seven of its 2021 OLED TVs will be larger than 70 inches. There will be new 8K OLED TVs called Z1 that will succeed last year's ZX. The company has also registered new C1 OLED models inc certification databases but they were not detailed in the Korean reports today. We hope to learn more about LG's C1 OLED TVs tomorrow at CES 2021. The TVs will be powered by a 4th-generation Alpha 9 video processor that is "based on deep learning technology that analyzes more than 1 million image data and 17 million sound data, and has significantly upgraded graphics and data processing capabilities compared to previous processors", according to EKN's report. LG 2021 OLED TV line-up

LG had already announced that its 2021 models will feature webOS 6.0 with a revamped homescreen. - "We will further solidify our leadership in the premium TV market through a triangular path leading not only to self-luminous OLED, but also premium LCD TV, QNED, and NanoCell," said Hyung-se Park, head of HE Business Division, LG Electronics, - "We believe this year will be the breakout year for the OLED TV market as its size is expected to be double from last year," said LG.
