IMDb TV streaming service launches on Roku, Xbox

05 Feb 2021 | Rasmus Larsen |

The free, ad-supported IMDb TV streaming service has arrived on Roku, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in the US. It offers access to movies and TV series.

IMDb TV is expanding

Amazon's IMDb TV (née Freedive) offers free, ad-supported access to thousands of Hollywood movies and TV series from partner studios as well as a line-up of original series from Amazon's own studio. IMDb TV is now available as an app for Roku and Xbox (Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S). It was already available on Amazon FireTV and Apple TV through the Prime Video app as well as iOS and Android.

IMDb TV on Roku

IMDb TV is currently available only in the US. Amazon announced plans to bring it to Europe in 2019 but it ultimately did not happen. In late 2020, reports surfaced that Amazon is still planning to expand internationally although it is unclear what the holdup is. The new Roku and Xbox apps are available now.
