The company said that OLED936 and OLED986 will feature the latest-generation OLED panel (only 55 and 65 inches) – a reference to LG Display's 2021 'Evo' OLED panel. - "The new OLED+ sets also feature the latest high-performance OLED panels with a new Emission Layer and Micro Lens Array to offer a 20% improvement in peak light output and improved viewing angles," said TP Vision, the company behind Philips TV in Europe.

Like other 2021 Philips OLED TVs (and the 2020 9-series), the new 9-series OLED TVs also come with Philips' anti-burn-in system that analyzes the picture by monitering a grid of 32400 zones. It will not have an impact on gaming lag, said Philips' picture guru Danny Tack. - "Philips TV’s system removes the anti-burn problem for 95% of static images including logos and gaming content." Other picture features highlighted were the dual-chip P5 Gen5 video processor, 4K resolution, HDMI 2.1 with 4K120, VRR and ALLM, input lag of 4 ms (4ms from the platform and 4ms from the display), AMD FreeSync Premium, Nvidia G-Sync Compatible, multi-HDR support (HLG, HDR10 & HDR10+, HDR10+ Adaptive and Dolby Vision), Calman Ready (ready at launch), and 120Hz BFI (can be set to Off, Min, Mid or Max).
