HBO Max will start its expansion into Europe in late October where it launches in the Nordics, Spain and Andorra. It will come to many more European territories in 2022.

The first six European countries where HBO Max will be made available on October 26 are Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Spain and Andorra.

In 2022, HBO Max will launch in the following territories as part of a phased global roll-out: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. Additional territory launches are also planned for next year, it said.

Additional details including product and content offering, price points, and technical details will be announced at a virtual launch event in October. The company did confirm, however, that HBO Max – at launch in Europe – will support user profiles, which serve up "content that resonates most through the combination of bespoke editorial curation and custom recommendations".

HBO Max will replace HBO España, HBO Nordic and HBO Go, regardless of whether customers have direct or partner billing. It will offer content from Warner Bros, HBO, DC and Cartoon Network as well as U.S. and international 'Max Originals'.

The company shared the teaser video embedded below but noted that not all titles will be available in all European regions at launch.
