Loewe launches Bild i – 48-77" 4K OLED TVs

05 Oct 2021 | Rasmus Larsen |

Loewe is back and as part of its rebirth the German manufacturer is launching a new line of 4K OLED TVs called Bild i with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Loewe Bild i

After the launch of new Bild v and Bild s models in late 2020, Loewe is expanding its line-up of premium TVs to include Bild i. First announced last year, Bild i is now officially available. - "The new bild i product line boasts premium 4K OLED panels of the latest generation in sizes of 65, 55 and 48 inches. The new Loewe bild i has been designed and developed at Loewe's headquarters in Kronach, Upper Franconia, where it is manufactured on a high-tech production line. Combined with the new Loewe SL7 chassis, the powerful NT7 processor and the new Loewe os7 software, a perfect viewing experience is guaranteed for a wide variety of content, no matter whether movies, series, sporting events or video games," the company said earlier this year.

The OLED TVs come with Loewe os7, which is actually a version of Hisense's Vidaa TV platform. It provides access to a handful of streaming services including Amazon, Netflix and YouTube. They are available with an integrated 1TB hard drive for channel recording. The TVs support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. They are equipped with four HDMI 2.0b ports with support for optional HDMI 2.1 features like ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and eARC (enhanced ARC). Loewe also highlighted support for HFR (High Frame Rate) but likely only at 1080p resolution as there are no HDMI 2.1 ports in the new TVs.

An optional soundbar

Loewe Bild i comes with integrated 20W speakers. Buyers have the option to add the Klang bar i, which is a soundbar designed to fit under the TV. The soundbar delivers 40W of power for better TV stereo and music. The soundbar can be retrofitted at any time, the company said.

Alternatively, Loewe offers a more expensive and external Klang bar5 mr soundbar with Dolby Atmos support (seen in the first photo). It comes with a matching klang sub5 subwoofer. Compared to the competition, Loewe's OLED TVs are significantly more expensive despite lacking some of the latest video features and technologies. What you get instead is good sound and an elegante design with attention to detail, according to the company. - "The elegant design language differs from the highly technical look of other models in the Loewe portfolio. The rear panel is covered with fabric, much like the top-of-the-line Loewe bild s.77 model. A magnetic cover hides the numerous connection options as well as any cables that might get in the way. The sophisticated design is rounded off by an included high-quality, swivelling table base in basalt grey with an integrated cable duct." Loewe's Bild i OLED TVs are available now in Europe in 48, 55, and 65 inches for 2700, 3000, and 3700 Euro, respectively. In the UK, prices start at 2700 UK pounds.
