A standalone Apple TV+ app – without the iTunes movie store – is now also available on some older Samsung TVs. It is a new initiative from Apple.
Apple TV+ on Samsung TVs
The new app provides access only to the Apple TV+ subscription service, unlike the more feature-rich 'Apple TV' app which is available for more recent Smart TVs from various brands.
Apple has updated its support documents to clarify the situation:

We reported on the new development earlier this month when a scaled-down Apple TV+ app came to 2016–2017 LG TVs.
Samsung has confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that the app is also rolling out to some older Samsung Smart TV models. The company said that 2017 models (line-up overview) such as the MUxxxx series and The Frame are included at this time. Owners in North America and Europe report that the app is already available from the Tizen app store.
FlatpanelsHD maintains a list of TV models that are compatible with the Apple TV app, AirPlay 2 and HomeKit, powered by the TV Database.
Apple TV+ has a free 7-day trial after which it costs $5 per month
