TCL Europe announced that some of its 2021 TVs are now certified for AMD FreeSync Premium in addition to HDMI 2.1 VRR.
AMD FreeSync in TCL TVs
Like LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Philips and Vizio, TCL now has official support for AMD's version of variable refresh rate. C825 is TCL Europe's first model to feature AMD FreeSync Premium.
- "We set out to create the best gaming experience for our customers by identifying the issues that frustrate gamers - input latency, screen tearing, and stuttering during gaming and video playback – then we found solutions. Through continuous innovation, we created the ultimate immersive experience – the new TCL Mini LED 4K TV C825 TV delivers incredibly smooth gameplay and has AMD FreeSync Premium certification," said Shaoyong Zhang, CEO of TCL Electronics.
To reap the benefits such as smoother gameplay, lower lag and no tearing (see picture), you must pair the TCL C825 to an AMD FreeSync compatible PC or game console, i.e. Xbox.

TCL C825 is a mid-range model with 4K resolution, LCD panel, and a miniLED zone-dimming backlight. It is one TCL's first 4K TVs with HDMI 2.1 ports and capabilities including VRR, HFR, ALLM, and eARC. Note that the UK version lacks several HDMI 2.1 features.
Later this year, TCL Europe will launch its new high-end X925 and X925 Pro models that will also support AMD FreeSync. The company has also brought FreeSync to a few of its TV models in the US.
