MSI made a brief announcement earlier this month and CES's award show gave us a couple of extra details. The MSI MEG551U is set to launch "soon", sometime in 2022. Pricing will be announced later.
- "An uncompromising visual experience, overpower the ordinary to reach the pinnacle of immersion with the MSI MEG551U OLED. Equipped with an OLED panel that has a unique light-emitting mechanism able to display true black resulting in super high contrast. While having high color accuracy, displaying lower levels of harmful blue light by utilizing an organic light-emitting compound. The MEG551U is equipped with a 55” OLED ultra-panel, displaying at 3840x2160 (UHD) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 0.5ms response time. MSI draws from their established strengths and takes immersion to the big screen without sacrificing picture quality, color accuracy, and response time," CTA said in announcing it as one of the award honorees.

However, it is not clear why it qualifies for the CES 2022 award as it looks like many other OLED screens that came before it – unless there is something they are not telling us yet.
HDMI 2.1 and VRR features have yet to be confirmed and while MSI is referring to it as a gaming monitor, the MEG551U will still have to compete with affordable OLED TVs like LG C1 that come fully equipped with HDMI 2.1, VRR, AMD FreeSync, and G-Sync compatibility.
FlatpanelsHD will chase more details at CES 2022 in January but we can already say with confidence that it is an LG Display OLED panel.
