Apple TV gets tvOS 15.2 with new screensavers, Siri in Dutch & Russian, more

Apple has released tvOS 15.2 for Apple TV HD, Apple TV 4K and HomePod. New features include screensavers from Iceland and Scotland, Apple Music Voice Plan, and Siri in Dutch and Russian.

tvOS 15.2 has arrived

Apple continues to bring new features to Apple TV HD six years after launch as well as Apple TV 4K. In September 2021, tvOS 15 introduced Spatial Audio, AirPods auto-paring, new screensavers, new gaming features, and much more. tvOS 15.1 introduced SharePlay. With tvOS 15.2, Apple has included additional screensavers from Iceland and Scotland. These will download automatically after a while. You can see the location of a screensaver by tapping the touch surface on the remote. HomePod, which also runs tvOS, has also gained support for Dutch (in both the Netherlands and Belgium) and Russian.

Apple Music's new cheaper Voice Plan is supported on Apple TV and HomePod after installing the 15.2 update. There is a new way to watch photos memories on Apple TV too. The Apple TV app's 'Movies' tabs has been renamed to 'Store', probably to make it a little more obvious that this section of the app will cost you extra on top of an Apple TV+ subscription. Additionally, Apple publishes a full list of security issues addressed in each tvOS releases. This update also includes performance and stability improvements. Photos Memories - A new way to view your Memories on the big screen with a new interactive interface, new animation and transition styles, and multiple image collages. - Apple Music subscribers will hear songs that combine expert recommendations with your music tastes, and what's in your photos and videos. Apple TV app - The Store tab is a new all-in-one destination to browse, buy, and rent the world's best movies and TV shows. Apple Music Voice Plan - The Apple Music Voice Plan is a new subscription tier that gives you access to all songs, playlists, and stations in Apple Music using Siri. Siri - Now includes language support for Dutch and French in Belgium, Russian in Russia, and French, German, and Italian in Switzerland. - Let Siri help you find shows, music, and more. To enable Siri, go to Settings > General > Siri. Then press the Siri button on your remote to see some examples of what you can ask. Screen savers - Enjoy stunning views of Iceland and Scotland. - Location details can be found by pressing the clickpad or tapping the Touch surface on your Siri Remote. To see the next location, swipe on the clickpad or Touch surface. - New Aerials can be downloaded more often. Go to Settings > General > Screen Saver to choose your settings.
