B&W unveils the Panorama 3, its first Dolby Atmos soundbar

03 Mar 2022 | Rasmus Larsen |

Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled a new all-in-one soundbar – without an external subwoofer – called Panorama 3. It is the company's first soundbar to support Dolby Atmos.

The slim soundbar measures only 6.5 cm in height, 120 cm in length, and has 13 built-in drivers. This includes two up-firing units (for Dolby Atmos) and an integrated dual-subwoofer for a 3.1.2-channel 400W sound system. The Panorama 3 comes 9 years after the Panorama 2 and will compete with the Sonos Arc and Dolby Atmos soundbars from major brands such as LG, Samsung and Sony. The first soundbar to support Dolby Atmos was launched in 2015 by Yamaha.

It can hang on a wall (bracket included) or lie on a flat surface underneath the TV. It is an all-in-one solution without external rear speakers and subwoofer. In addition to Dolby's audio formats, Panorama 3 supports PCM input. It does not support decoding of any DTS audio format. It can be controlled with the TV's remote through HDMI CEC commands or with the Bowers & Wilkins app. Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and Spotify Connect are supported for music. Multiroom support will be added through a later software update. Bowers & Wilkins' Panorama 3 soundbar will be available soon for 1000 Euro.
