Dell's Alienware QD-OLED monitor is now available for $1300

Dell's first QD-OLED monitor is now shipping in the US. The 34-inch curved Alienware AW3423DW is designed for PC gaming.

QD-OLED has arrived

The first QD-OLED display has arrived in the form of a monitor, soon to be followed by the first QD-OLED TVs. QD-OLED is a new OLED panel type produced by Samsung Display. Dell's Alienware monitor was unveiled at CES 2022 in January alongside Samsung's first QD-OLED monitor based on the same 34-inch panel. FlatpanelsHD saw the former in action at CES and left impressed. Also read: First look: QD-OLED displays The QD-OLED panel in the Alienware AW3423DW has 3440x1440 resolution, up to 1000 nits peak brightness, 10-bit colors, 0.1 ms response time (G2G), and true black for very high contrast. Dell is charging $1300 while Samsung has yet to announce details. The monitors – and the panel – are designed for PC gaming. For the purpose, AW3423DW supports Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate. In addition, it supports HDR and in contrast to the vast majority of LED LCD monitors on the market, this panel is actually capable of delivering HDR picture quality. Dell's 3-year warranty covers burn-in. - "The Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor is engineered to avoid burn-in caused by items appearing onscreen for long periods of time. Additionally, you'll receive a 3-year service coverage, further protecting you from OLED burn-in and ensuring peace-of-mind quality assurance," said Dell. Dell's Alienware AW3423DW is available now in the US for $1300 from dell.com. It will be available in Europe and other regions soon.
