BOE is reportedly planning to commercialize a 95" 8K OLED TV panel

Samsung Display recently entered the market as the second OLED TV panel manufacturer and China's BOE could emerge as the third player.

After having been showcased at the Display Week 2022 show earlier this month, market research firm DSCC reports that BOE is planning to commercialize its 95-inch WOLED TV panel.

- "DSCC sources in China have learned that BOE plans to commercialize the 95” 8K White OLED TV panel shown at Display Week. I must admit, I heard this at the exhibit during Display Week but did not believe it, but our sources in China confirm BOE’s intent," the report said.

The panel features 8K resolution, 800 nits peak brightness, 150 nits fullscreen brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and 99% DCI-P3 coverage – in line with LG Display's WOLED panels. BOE is reportedly planning to produce the panel on its B5 WOLED R&D line, which has limited capacity. However, "since volumes would be expected to be quite low, their R&D capacity may be enough", said DSCC adding that "our source indicated that BOE’s yield on the product is 'not that bad'."
