SkyShowtime app launches on recent Samsung Smart TVs

14 Feb 2023 | Rasmus Larsen |

SkyShowtime expands today to Central and Eastern Europe and will complete its European roll-out later this month. The app is now available on select Samsung Smart TVs.

- "SkyShowtime has today also announced a partnership with Samsung. From 14 February, customers across all markets will be able to watch SkyShowtime through select Samsung Smart TVs," the company announced.

Compatible models include Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 or later that run Tizen 3.0 or later. Earlier Samsung TVs with Tizen do not get SkyShowtime, as Samsung does not upgrade the Tizen platform in TVs after the sale.

There is no word on 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos support.

The app was already available on Android TV, Apple TV (tvOS), Google TV and recent LG TVs (webOS). Chromecast is also supported.
