Starting in the US, Google is rolling out four new content hubs on the Google TV homescreen to make it easier to find content. Globally, Google TV will get design tweaks. Google is taking curation and "recommendations" – ads – from its partners one step further on Google TV which is slowly but steadily replacing Android TV. - "So to improve your search journey and help narrow down your options, we’re launching four new content pages on Google TV in the U.S. These new pages, located right below the apps row on the For you tab, give you easy access to the best of Movies, Shows, Family and Spanish-language entertainment, without jumping app to app."
Google TV design tweaksThe Google TV profile switcher will be relocated from the top right corner to the top left corner. Search will move to the far right, along with the introduction of a new quick settings button. These design tweaks are rolling out globally now, as opposed to the refreshed homescreen which is available only in the US at launch. The new features and interface elements will be added server-side without requiring a software update on Chromecast with Google TV as well as other Google TV devices such as recent TV models from Hisense, Philips, Sony, and TCL.
