Google TV refresh rolling out globally

10 Mar 2023 | Rasmus Larsen |

Google is moving the profile switcher to the top left corner and introducing a redesigned quick settings menu in the top right corner. Users in the US get new content hubs.

The changes were announced by Google in late February and are now rolling out globally.

FlatpanelsHD has received the refresh on Chromecast with Google TV and it will also appear on Google TV devices from other brands including TVs. It does not require a system update as Google is pushing the refresh server-side.

Here is how the homescreen top menu has changed:

And here is how the new quick settings menu looks. It now has four buttons instead of two, and underneath you get notifications from the system and apps.
