Samsung's 2023 The Frame is mostly a continuation of the 2022 version with a matte LCD panel but also a refreshed art store. It is available now in regions such as the UK.

The Frame is a standard 4K LCD TV without the advanced zone dimming system of Samsung's high-end models, but its ability to show digital art when the TV is not in use has proven popular with certain groups of buyers. The art store offers works from Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh and Botticelli.

In terms of display and hardware, Samsung's 2023 The Frame is more of less identical to the 2022 version except for the 32-inch screen which now has the matte LCD panel (instead of glossy), a motion sensor, and 16GB of storage – like the larger screens.

Refreshed art store, metal bezels
The art store has been refreshed in 2023 with "previews at-a-glance and extended content offerings, which mimic the experience of visiting a gallery or museum", said Samsung. There is also a metal bezel option – instead of plastic – that will be available later in 2023. Bezels click on magnetically.

The Frame is one of several 'lifestyle' TVs, as the manufacturers like to call them. Samsung's existing Serif and Sero models will carry over into 2023. Rival LG recently launched Art90 and Posé that also come with gallery features and OLED panels meaning that unlike Samsung, LG's lifestyle models deliver roughly the same picture quality as its best OLED TVs. In addition, TCL has been showcasing an Art+ prototype that it is considering launching in Europe and possibly other regions.

Samsung's 2023 The Frame is available now in 32 to 85 inches.
