Panasonic currently uses Android in mid-range TVs and its own MyHomeScreen platform in premium TVs. The company will start its transition from Android TV to Google TV this year.
Panasonic has announced an extensive Google TV line-up for India comprising models such as MX850, MX800, MX750 and MX700. We will have to wait a bit longer (mid-June) for the company to announce its full European line-up but it is worth noting that 'M' is the letter for 2023 models in Europe, too – such as MZ2000.
One of Panasonic's new MX-series Google TVs announced for India
Panasonic's 2023 OLED flagship MZ2000, which was announced at CES 2023 in January, runs MyHomeScreen 8.0, so we also expect Panasonic's step-down 2023 OLED TV ranges for Europe to run MyHomeScreen.
However, Google TV could show up in mid-range models in Europe. Before Panasonic announced its first Android TV for Europe a couple of years ago, it appeared in India.
Google TV is replacing Android TV
Panasonic's Google TVs run on Android 11 in India. Google TV has a refreshed user interface (vs. Android TV) with additional personalization such as the 'For You' tab as well as extra features such as user profiles including kids profiles.
