First 32" 4K 240Hz OLED monitor unveiled – but it won't come until 2024

09 Aug 2023 | Rasmus Larsen |

The first 32-inch OLED monitor with 4K resolution af 240Hz refresh rate has been unveiled by Dough, but it will not come until 2024 and may not even be the first to launch.

The monitor will be built on LG Display's WOLED panel and is an extension of Dough's 'Spectrum' series that currently includes a 27-inch that the company promised, and failed, to ship by July. It is now targeting October for the 27-inch.

Dough was formerly known as Eve and has a poor track record.

However, the announcement of the new monitor is noteworthy for being the first 32-inch 4K OLED monitor known to the public and it gives us more insight into what LG Display's 32-inch OLED panel will offer once it arrives next year to shake up the PC monitor gaming market.

- "Today, we're introducing a new model as part of our Spectrum Black lineup, and you're going to be blown away by the specs. With a 4K@240Hz 32" OLED panel, we're bringing you the pinnacle of gaming immersion, unlike anything in the market," announced Dough.

The 32-inch OLED panel, or 31.5-inch to be exact, features a 16:9 aspect ratio with 3840x2160 pixels. It is specified to deliver up to 1000 nits peak brightness (3% window) for HDR. It has 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms (g2g) response time. Dough's version will come with both a glossy cover glass and AG (matte) coating, ES07E3D and ES07E3F respectively. It will support VRR (48-240Hz range) and feature HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 inputs. Dough did not confirm if it will also support BFI like the 27-inch version.

Dough will start to take very early pre-orders for $699 or $799 with cover glass, a price that will increase as we approach the launch in April 2024. However, even April 2024 seems optimistic for a panel that will not go into production by LG Display until next year, and we would not be surprised to see other companies, for example LG Electronics, end up launching the first 32-inch 4K OLED monitor. Expect many more 32-inch OLEDs to be announced in the near future.
