Two of M. Night Shyamalan's best films are now available in remastered 4K HDR versions, with UHD Blu-ray versions coming in October.
The Sixth Sense, starring Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment and Toni Collette, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Along with Signs, starring Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix and Rory Culkin, the two thrillers are being rereleased in 4K to coincide with the home release of Shyamalan's new film, Trap.
The original negatives have been scanned in 4K resolution and restored in High Dynamic Range (HDR).
Available now in 4K
Both The Sixth Sense and Signs are available now in the US in 4K Dolby Vision with 5.1 Dolby surround sound through digital storefronts such as Apple TV and FandangoNow.

If you have already bought the movies on the Apple TV app, they will be upgraded free of charge.
They are currently not showing up in 4K on the Apple TV app in international regions, but it is likely just a matter of time.
Coming to UHD Blu-ray later
The UHD Blu-ray versions will be available on October 22 in the US. The international release date has not been confirmed.
On UHD Blu-ray, the movies will be presented in 4K HDR10 with 5.1 DTS-HD MA surround sound. They are printed on 100GB discs, which is unusual for Disney, who predominately uses smaller-capacity 66GB discs for UHD Blu-ray releases.

Disney opens its vault
After the acquisition of 20th Century Fox, movie collectors have encouraged Disney to open up its vault and rerelease classics on UHD Blu-ray and VOD.
The company has seemed hesitant to do so, focusing primarily on its streaming service Disney+, so it is great to see Disney finally releasing The Sixth Sense and Signs – hopefully, more classics will follow.
