Google is ramping up efforts to compete in the space for free, ad-supported streaming TV channels with the US launch of 'Freeplay' in a redesigned app.
There is Pluto TV, Roku Channel, Tubi, Amazon Freevee, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels and many more.
You can add Google TV Freeplay to the list.

The Google TV Freeplay app
The Google TV Freeplay app has a fresh look and is rolling out now to devices such as Chromecast with Google TV as well as TV models from TCL, Hisense and other brands, as reported by 9to5Google.
Channels are divided into categories, but you can also select your favorite channels to make them appear in Favorites at the top, as shown below.

If you are in the US and are not yet seeing the Freeplay app on your devices, you just have to wait a little longer. Google is rolling it out as a server-side update, so there is no need to update your device's software.
The Freeplay app will also be available on the new Google TV Streamer set to debut later this month.
