Streaming service SkyShowtime will soon introduce a new ad-free Premium plan with access to movies and series in 4K, more simultaneous streams and a download feature.
Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Max and Netflix all offer content in 4K, with or without HDR, but SkyShowtime has not offered any content in the better video format.
That will change later this month in Albania, Andorra, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
On October 29, SkyShowtime will add a more expensive Premium plan on top of 'Standard with ads' and Standard (formerly Standard Plus).
- "From the start, SkyShowtime has always been committed to giving consumers choice and delivering great entertainment at a great price. We are delivering on that promise—first with our Standard with Ads plan and now with the introduction of our new Premium plan that offers customers all of the great SkyShowtime entertainment they love, but with additional features including more simultaneous streams, more downloads, and a growing selection of 4K UHD content," said Monty Sarhan, CEO of SkyShowtime.
SkyShowtime Premium
A SkyShowtime Premium subscription will cost 12 Euro/month. The Standard plan will be 9 Euro/month, while Standard with ads is 6 Euro/month.
Subscribers to the Premium plan will be able to stream content on up to five devices simultaneously and download 100 titles for offline viewing on the go, with a maximum of 30 movies.
For the first time, SkyShowtime will also offer access to select movies and series in 4K UHD. There is no word on HDR and/or Dolby Atmos.
- "Consumers can look forward to a diverse mix of entertainment available in 4K UHD through the Premium plan. This includes a selection of most watched titles, new and exclusive series, local original programming and the best of Hollywood blockbusters, offering high-quality visuals and immersive experiences. Titles available at launch include but are not limited to Frasier (S2), Kung Fu Panda 4, Lioness (S2),
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (S2), Tulsa King (S2) and all five seasons of Yellowstone, SkyShowtime confirmed to FlatpanelsHD.
