Ahead of schedule, webOS 24 with Chromecast support is rolling out to 2023 LG OLED models such as C3 and G3. It will be coming to more LG models later.
Update: The new firmware also adds Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode.
LG had told us to expect the webOS 24 update sometime in 2025, but apparently the Korean company has decided to push it to its premium OLED models early.
Owners of the LG C3 and LG G3 in the Americas and Europe are reporting that firmware version 23.20.50 has begun appearing with new features such as webOS 24, Chromecast built-in, LG's sports portal (in some regions) and bug fixes.

LG has confirmed that the rollout is in progress:
- "For the first time ever, LG Smart TVs will offer webOS upgrades for up to 5 years to better serve you. Now you can upgrade your TV just like your smartphone. Experience a wealth of features and services with the new evolution of webOS," said LG.
Gradual rollout
As always, it is a gradual rollout across regions and models so patience is required if you are not seeing it on your 2023 LG model yet. Alternatively, you can install it manually on C3 and G3 via USB, but this option is currently only available in the Americas from LG's support page here.
2023 LG OLED and LCD models, including "QNED", will receive webOS 24, 25, 26 and 27. 2022 OLED and 8K LCD models will receive webOS 23, 24, 25 and 26. It is part of LG's 'webOS ReNew program', which will also bring more ads and sponsored content to the TVs. You can read more about LG's plans here.

It is not possible to revert to webOS 23 after installing webOS 24.
