LG will this year launch the M5, G5, C5 and B5 OLED ranges in 42 to 97 inches. G5 is expected to be the brightest TV on the market, according to the company.
Starting with the flagships, M5 and G5 will feature an upgraded OLED panel from LG Display. LG Electronics said that with 'Brightness Booster Ultimate' G5 and M5 are "3 times brighter than the B series" (in a 10% window) in 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches.
G5 will also be available in 48 inches for the first time, but lower brightness. The 97-inch version will not reach the same brightness levels either, according to the company.
Brightest OLED TV to date?
LG referred to G5 as the "brightest TV in the market", highlighting improvements to peak brightness, color performance and full-screen luminance, with full-screen brightness claimed to be 40% brighter than in last year's G4.
While no exact nit values were mentioned, the percentage figures suggest peak brightness over 2000 nits with calibrated picture settings and full-screen brightness over 300 nits. We will need to test a review sample to confirm.

LG Display, the panel maker, is not exhibiting at CES this year (LG Electronics is), so we do not yet have technical information on the actual panel, but FlatpanelsHD has learned that it is the 4-stack OLED panel, up from a 3-stack last year, that we reported on in December. The extra OLED layer improves energy efficiency and brightness. The panel no longer uses microlenses (MLA).

G5 will retain its slim gallery design. M5, which is largely similar to the G5, will feature the wireless Zero Connect box. However, this limits the refresh rate to 144Hz, compared to the 165Hz that the G5 (except for 97" and 48") will support for the first time, as first reported by FlatpanelsHD in november.
LG C5 remains non-MLA
Since the introduction of MLA OLED in 2023, consumers have hoped to see it trickle down into the more affordable C series, but unfortunately C5 will not incorporate the MLA OLED panel in 2025 either.
LG said that C5 will feature a slight increase in brightness and color performance over last year's C4, along with an upgraded Alpha 9 processor, but otherwise it will mirror C4. C5 will be available in 42 to 83 inches.
Additionally, LG will launch an upgraded B5, replacing B4, which brought four HDMI 2.1 ports to the more affordable B series. In 2025, B5 will be available in sizes ranging from 48 to 83 inches, featuring a 120Hz OLED panel. LG's entry-level A series has been discontinued.

New remote, webOS upgrades
For years, FlatpanelsHD and LG buyers have been urging the company to upgrade its glossy plastic clicker. The good news is that LG is finally delivering a redesigned remote in 2025. The bad news? It still has motion control and six sponsored buttons.
The numbered 1-9 buttons are gone, and the volume buttons have been relocated. It is smaller, no longer made of glossy plastic, and features a new "AI" button, replacing the voice button. This "AI" button also gives the remote its new name: AI Magic Remote. Additionally, the input button has been removed, a change also seen in Samsung's remotes – to some users' dismay.
The refreshed webOS 25 offers access to the streaming services but will still be heavy on ads. webOS 25 will eventually expand beyond LG's 2025 models to 2024, 2023 and even select 2022 and 2021 models.
The company said that its 'AI picture mode' will extend to sound in 2025. A new feature is the AI Art generator (US, UK, Korea at launch), which will also allow users to upload and modify their own photos. Voice search will be enhanced with AI and the home hub has been refreshed.
As for audio, all existing soundbars will carry over into 2025, said LG.
LG's B5, C5, G5, and M5 OLED TVs will launch this spring, with pricing details to be announced. See the TV Database below for full specifications.
