Panasonic has unveiled Z95B, which features a next-generation OLED panel with a four-layer emission structure for significantly improved brightness, color and efficiency.
After revamping its TV line-up last year and abandoning its own TV platform, My Home Screen, in favor of Amazon's Fire TV platform, Panasonic will in 2025 launch the Z95B OLED TVs in 55, 65, and 77 inches.
Z95B features an improved OLED panel with a 'ThermalFlow' cooling solution and a redesigned Dolby Atmos speaker system. It will compete with other 2025 flagship TVs such as LG's G5 and Samsung's S95F.

A new 4-layer OLED panel
The new OLED panel, which Panasonic refers to as 'Primary RGB Tandem Panel', will for the first time from Panasonic also be available in the 77-inch Z95B.
- "The Z95B series uses the latest next-generation OLED panel with Primary RGB Tandem technology. This new OLED panel employs a four-layer emission structure which refines the wavelength of light and increases colour purity, thus enhancing light efficiency by 40 percent. This improvement enables a significant increase in brightness and a broader colour volume, delivering even richer, more realistic imagery," explained Panasonic.

A number of questions are still left unanswered about the new panel. The panel manufacturer, LG Display, is not exhibiting at CES 2025 this year so we will have to wait for more information, but FlatpanelsHD has confirmed that it is the new 4-layer OLED panel (up from 3 layers) that LG Display has been teasing for at least a year, at one point specified to reach 3700 nits, although we expect peak brightness in calibrated mode to come in well below. More information as we get it.
Panasonic said that the panel delivers higher brightness, without providing any numbers. FlatpanelsHD measured last year's Z95A to 1718 nits peak and 255 nits full-screen luminance in our in-depth review, making it one of the brightest OLED TVs available.
The new OLED panel is paired with the company's custom and fully redesigned 'ThermalFlow' cooling solution "inspired by aerodynamic techniques seen in race car design" to help sustain the peak brightness of the panel. It is powered by the HCX Pro AI MK II processor.
FlatpanelsHD had a chance to briefly see the Z95B in action compared to last year's Z95A, and Z95B definitely appears to be brighter, not only in white highlights but also in color.

A wider soundstage
Panasonic further said that it has redesigned the built-in Dolby Atmos speaker system for a "double as wide" soundstage. The built-in subwoofer has been upgraded from 20W to 30W.
- "Panasonic has redesigned the speaker units, changed the audio layout to widen the soundstage, and renewed its spatial sound processing. Furthermore, Technics engineers have also meticulously tuned the Z95B series. Consequently, the Z95B ensures content is viewed and heard as intended by its creators."
The changes have led to a streamlined design, with the company highlighting that users can expect detachable terminal covers, a swivel stand and a slimmer wall-mount solution.

Fire TV with Prime Video Calibrated Mode
Like last year's Z95A, Z95B comes with Fire TV built-in for access to streaming apps and more. For the first time, Z95B also features Prime Video Calibrated Mode, a feature first seen in Sony TVs.
Other new features include Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail that takes advantage of a built-in ambient light sensor. Dolby Vision is supported up to 4K 144Hz, and there is still support for ATSC 3.0, Apple Home and AirPlay. Support for Calman calibration and ISFccc returns in Z95B – for the first time in a Fire TV – but all users can benefit from the pre-calibrated picture modes in partnership with Stefan Sonnenfeld from Company 3.
For gaming, the TV features HDMI 2.1 ports and support for FreeSync and G-Sync Compatible. There is also still the calibrated True Game Mode to ensure that games look as the creators intended.
Z95B will be available later this year in Europe and the US. Pricing will be announced later along with additional new 2025 OLED models.
