Nintendo has officially revealed the successor to the Switch console, although details are scarce. Switch 2 can still be used either handheld or docked to a TV screen.
After a wave of rumors and leaks, Nintendo has decided to reveal the Switch 2 in a short video, which is more of a teaser than a full reveal. More details will be announced on April 2.
The company said that the console will be available for purchase later in 2025. Physical showcase events are planned in cities around the world from early April to the end of May.

What we think we know
Official details on hardware, display technology, new games, and pricing will have to wait, so for now we can only rely on rumors for these details.
Rumor has it that Switch 2 will once again use an ARM-based SoC from Nvidia, a so-called Tegra T239. This chip is said to support upscaling to higher resolutions using Nvidia's DLSS technology.
The original Switch is built on an older Tegra chip, which is by the way also used in the Nvidia Shield box.
Nintendo Switch has sold over 146 million units, making it the third best-selling game console of all time after Nintendo DS and PlayStation 2.
