Samsung has unveiled two new 3D plasma ranges called C680 and C490. The C680 model is a cheaper alternative to the high-end 3D plasma-TVs and has a Full HD resolution. C490 is a 3D 720p plasma-TV.
Cheaper Samsung 3D plasma-TVs
Samsung is going all in on the 3D technology this year. And now they have unveiled two new 3D plasma TVs for the US market. The C680 is official now and C490 should be in stores soon as a low-price 3D alternative.

C680 will be available in 50 inches called PN50C680 and will incorporated a 1920x1080 3D-panel with a dynamic contrast ratio spec of 2,000,000:1. It's based on the active 3D technology that requires active shutter glasses.

The panel is also slimmer than most plasma-TVs, although not as slim as the flagship Samsung plasma models. C680 comes with 4 HDMI inputs and Samsung’s Internet and DLNA AllShare functionality. Samsung has also integrated a USB port for media playback and a game mode to reduce input lag.

The cheaper C490 series is the first 3D 720p plasma-TV from Samsung. It will feature a new so-called e3-panel and 3 HDMI inputs. No Internet or DLNA has been confirmed for this model.
C490 will be available in 50 inches called PN50C490. The 3D glasses will have to be bought separately.
Official now
C680 is official on the Samsung US site now. C490 is still not official. No prices have been mentioned.
The TVs have only been confirmed for US launch but I think it’s safe to assume that Europeans can expect to see some announcements during the huge consumer electronics fair IFA 2010 in Berlin this September.
