IKEA revealed the all-in-one TV/speaker solution in April 2012 but it has only launched in very few markets since then despite a plan to go international in 2012. The Uppleva TV has now been postponed to 2013. IKEA says that demand is greater than anticipated.

The all-in-one TV, speaker and furniture solution called IKEA Uppleva is available in Sweden, France, Italy, Germany and Poland. The plan was to expand availability to more European countries and go international in 2012 and the beginning of 2013. However, IKEA has postponed the first phase of the roll-out to “sometime in 2013” which also means that the US introduction will happen later than anticipated.

IKEA Uppleva has been more popular than IKEA had expected and customers in first countries have been very eager to get their hands on the furniture / TV concept, IKEA says.
The Swedish press was not exactly ecstatic about the IKEA Uppleva solution which is said to deliver bad picture quality, confusing Smart TV navigation and bad build quality. However, this seems not to have affected sales as IKEA customers have flocked to buy the TV solution – apparently.
