Samsung’s Smart TV servers have been down over the weekend. A similar break-down happened back in January. The outage hits hard as Samsung’s Smart TVs have been designed in a manner that all services and apps are reliant on its servers.
Update: Still down in some regions.
Samsung’s Smart TV servers down again
In January, Samsung’s Smart TV servers were down for over a week and this weekend buyers have complained about another outage. The servers that control the Smart TV platform are the culprit.

Samsung’s Smart TV servers have been down twice in two months
Oftentimes when servers running smart devices experience outage only select services or apps are down. However, Samsung’s Smart TVs run from a central platform so if the server goes down all apps, including streaming services, Skype, Facebook etc. go down with it. Unfortunately, it seems that Samsung has trouble keeping the servers running smoothly.
The issues hit users in all countries but Samsung seems to have solved the issues. With two crashes in two months we hope not to see a third.
