Samsung S27B971D is new matte PLS monitor

Samsung's latest 27-inch monitor is aimed at photographers, graphic designers and other users with color specific demands. It goes by the name S27B971D and is a follow-up to last year’s SB970 range. The new SB971 comes with a matte PLS LCD panel.

Samsung’s S27B970D will still be available to buy but Samsung now adds the S27B971D, which, unlike the former, uses a matte LCD panel to reduce reflections.

The SB971 series is based on a PLS panel; a variant of IPS. It comes color calibrated from the factory and offers a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. Samsung also uses an LED backlight to reduce thickness and power consumption.

The monitor is made from matte aluminum, just like the earlier version. It can be connected to a PC via DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort. It also has built-in speakers and a headphone jack.
