Sony’s 65” and 55” 4K TVs in the X900 series will be available to buy starting from May 2013. Prices start at $5000 for the 55” version.
Sony's 4K TVs to debut in May, starting at $5000
Sony’s 84” 4K TV was released in November for $25,000 USD and in May Sony will be adding the smaller and much cheaper 65” and 55” 4K TVs.
Sony’s X9000 4K series will be available in 65 and 55 inch sizes
The TVs are part of Sony’s major push for 4K resolution that is considered the next step in TV resolution. Sony will soon offer three 4K TVs – also called Ultra HD TVs – and later in 2013 Sony will release its PlayStation 4 that supports 4K video.
Sony’s 55” XBR-55X900 will cost $5000 and the 65” XBR-65X900 will cost $7000 when they appear in stores in May. The European launch is expected in June for most regions.
