JVC has unveiled their first Ultra HD TVs in the Diamonds series. The TVs will be available in three sizes, starting at a 55-inch model for $999.
In three sizes, up to 85”
All of the big-name brands have already launched Ultra HD TVs, but smaller TV makers such as JVC are also starting to move. Their game plan is to underbid the big players.
JVC’s Diamond line of Ultra HD TVs will launch as 55, 65 and 85” models this September for $999, $1999 and $7999, respectively. The 65-inch will feature a limited local dimming system to improve black levels on the TV. It has 32 local dimming zones, whereas the 85-inch has 64 zones. Both use a direct LED system.

JVC has not decided on which Smart TV platform they will push, so they will let you use built-in apps based on a forked version of Android or the Roku streaming stick, which connects to the TV via HDMI. Speaking of HDMI, the TV has four, including a HDMI 2.0 port.
The new JVC Ultra HD TVs will be called DM55USR, DM65USR and DM85USR.
