BenQ has launched a new monitor designed for photographers. It uses an IPS panel to reproduce accurate colors in the AdobeRGB and sRGB color spaces. It also comes pre-calibrated from the factory.
BenQ launches SW2700PT
BenQ takes aim at professional photographers with its latest monitor, saying that it can reproduce more precise color representations for nature photography because it support the AdobeRGB gamut that is significantly wider than the tradition sRGB. It covers more of the green colors that the human eye can see.
SW2700PT has an IPS panel with 2560x1440 pixel resolution, a 14-bit LUT (look up table) and a promise of color delta below 2, meaning that every color is reproduced virtually perfect to the human eye. The 14-bit LUT can be hardware-calibrated and the monitor comes with software to do so. It supports calibrators from X-rite and Datacolor, and is also available with a shading hood as depicted in the photo above.
BenQ is well-known for its gaming and office monitors. With SW2700PT the company believes that it can challenge other manufacturers in the field such as Eizo, NEC, LG, and Samsung.
