Pixel density on monitors is increasing and AOC’s latest 24" U2477PWQ has an impressive 3840x2160 pixels - also known as 4K UHD. The monitor also features a HDMI 2.0 port, making it capable of receiving 4K inputs from non-PC devices.
AOC U2477PWQ with HDMI 2.0
4K resolution on a 24” panel might sound like overkill but the monitor has been designed for modern operating system such as Windows 10 and OS X El Capitan that can run at 2x or 3x scaling. That way the size of fonts will remain unchanged, just much crisper.

AOC U2477PWQ has a PLS panel with 3840x2160 pixels. The PLS panel is an IPS-type panel characterized by accurate colors and wide viewing angles, but weak contrast. The backlight is flicker-free.
You can connect the monitor to a PC and work in sRGB but it is also possible to connect other 4K devices because the monitor has DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0. The latter is the standard used in the TV industry for connecting 4K players and other devices. AOC says that the HDMI port supports “HDCP” but it is not clear if that means HDCP 2.2, which is required to enjoy movies through for example UHD Blu-ray players.

The stand offer height and tilt adjustment. Full specifications are available here.
AOC U2477PWQ will be available in Europe later in November for 399 Euro.
