Sales start for UHD Blu-ray in Europe

Are you excited about UHD Blu-ray? Hollywood surely is and with UHD Blu-ray most major studios have started offering movies with next-level picture and audio quality.

The UHD Blu-ray format combines 4K resolution, HDR (high dynamic range) and a wide color to take the picture experience to the next level. The disc format also support object-based audio systems such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Most Hollywood studios are backing the new disc format. Of the major studios only Universal and Disney have yet to commit. Rumors say that Universal will join the party in September with the release of Oblivion. Disney holds the rights to Star Wars but has yet to announce details.

So, at the moment you can buy movies from studios such as 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. and very soon Paramount.
