LG looks poised to launch wallpaper OLED TV at CES 2017

When CES 2017 kicks off next week, LG will most likely launch its ‘wallpaper TV’ - an ultra-thin OLED TV that has been exhibited in the past using only magnets to hang on the wall.

We have seen prototypes of the wallpaper TV on several occasions and in November FlatpanelsHD exclusively revealed details on the 2017 LG OLED TVs, including a new model called W7.

The W7 range appears to be the wallpaper TV and LG has now released this teaser ahead of the CES show next week.



For those of us who have seen the wallpaper prototype the message in the video is hard to mistake. Under the slogan “See the Next” LG will unveil an OLED TV that is almost as thin as a credit card.

When FlatpanelsHD saw the prototype last year it was a 55-inch model with a thickness of less than 1 mm that weighed less than 2 kilograms. Based on the leak in November, LG appears to be planning 65 and 77-inch W7 models that will be positioned as flagship TVs.

LG will also launch successors to the current OLED TV line-up. These will be called B7, C7, E7, and G7 and come in 55 to 77inch sizes.
