|

LG has unveiled its new 2010 Infinia range of flat panel TVs. The new high-end models will be called Infinia and comes in three series; LE9500, LE8500 and LE7500. LE9500 has LED backlight, 480/400 Hz, a new Live Borderless design and 3D support.

LG has also introduced new plasma-Tv series that we will be talking about in a seperate article.

LG's new flagship is named Infinia LE9500. The new LE9500 will be launched in two sizes. A 55-inch model and smaller 47-inch model called 55LE9500 and 47LE9500.

The Infinia Tvs does feature promising specs but also brags with a new Live Borderless design that almost eliminates the frame around the LCD panel. The frame is just 8.5 mm wide.

The Infinia models are the new high-end Tv series from LG and are packed with functionality and technology. LG mentions a Full LED panel with local dimming (in 240 zones on the 55-inch model) but this doesn’t mean that the LE9500 is not slim.

LE9500 also incorporates a newly developed 480/400 Hz system, making movement even more smooth. It also supports 3D.

The new Infinia models also eliminates cables, using a new Wireless AV link that can receive HD signales from other wireless devices.

LE9500 will include a THX-profile, which ensures that picture quality on LE9500 meets the stringent requirements of THX.

LG has also updated the NetCast system, known from the LG Blu-Ray players. NetCast lets users access the Internet to enjoy the new Skype-function, Google Picasa, YouTube, Netflix, and more. NetCast also supports DLNA.

Finally, LG mentions a Magic Motion Remote Control. The Magic Motion remote is a Wii-like remote which means that it is enough to point at the screen to navigate in menus.

LG Infinia LE8500

LG's nect Infinia model is the LE8500; the little brother to LE9500. The most significant difference is a 200 Hz system instead of 400 Hz. 3D is supported on LE8500, too.

The LE8500 model also features a LED backlight with local dimming, a sleek design with a slim frame, a THX profile, as well as the NetCast system. LE8500 will also incorporate Wireless AV Link and DLNA.

LE7500 is the step down from the LE8500. Instead of an LED backlight with local dimming, LE7500 utilizes a Edge LED backlight and 100 Hz instead of 200 Hz. This also means that 3D is not supported on LE7500.
