Internet is the new buzz word in the flat panel TV industry. Google recently launched their Google TV, as an external box and as an integrated TV solution, and Apple has launched their new Apple TV with internet video-streaming. Now Microsoft wants a piece of the pie.

This was pretty much expected. Microsoft has consistently been one step behind the two other giants, Apple and Google, in the last few years. Apple and Google have recently launched their internet solutions for flat panel TVs, and now Microsoft wants to join the race.
Xbox 360 soon to have internet apps?
Microsoft is planning to create their own internet streaming and content service, based on the Xbox 360 console, sources have told Reuters.
Microsoft has already invested in different WebTV services, sources pointed out. According to same sources, Microsoft is hoping to integrate social media such as Facebook. Lastly, a so-called “hand-gesture” remote control interface is mentioned. By using hand gestures and the Microsoft Kinect system, it will be possible to change channel and control volume without an actual remote control in your hand.
Google recently launched Google TV and Apple recently launched Apple TV 2.0.
