Panasonics Viera Remote app for iOS and Android
Panasonic releases media-app for iOS & Android

19 Apr 2012 | Rasmus Larsen |

Panasonic has released their new app, Viera Remote, for smartphones and tablets with Apple iOS and Google Android. With the app, Panasonics aims to make integration between devices tighter. Now you can stream content from your handheld device to your TV, or stream TV channels from your TV to your other devices.

Panasonic’s media app is here

Panasonic wants to make integration between devices tighter and hopes to do that with apps for smartphones and tablets. We introduced the media app back in February 2012 and it has now been released in the respective app stores.

Viera Remote is much more than just a remote:
  • Push video, music, video and websites from a smartphone/tablet onto the TV screen
  • Enjoy media content and recordings from the TV (USB hard drive or SD card) on a smartphone/tablet
  • Watch TV channels from your TV on a smartphone/tablet screen
  • Use a smartphone/tablet as a remote for the games found in Panasonic’s Smart TVs
  • Works as a remote control on smartphones/tablets for Panasonic’s Smart TVs

Not all functions are supported on all of Panasonic’s 2012 Smart TVs. The dual-core models (VT50, GT50 og WT50) support all features but more and more features are left out when we move down to the cheaper TV models. Some functions are supported on the 2011 TVs but not the most advanced ones.

Download the app for Apple iOS and Google Android. The app is designed for both smartphones or tablets.

Learn more and see supported features on the different TV ranges at Panasonic’s website here. We have also taken a look at the features in the Panasonic DT50 review.
