LG has launched a new HD OLED TV as the successor to last year’s EC9300. The EG9100 is a 55” curved model with the latest webOS 2.0 operating system and support for HEVC decoding.

LG has just started shipping its flat 4K OLED TVs and now EG9100 is also available in stores. The new HD model is the successor to EC9300, which was released last year.
EG9100 comes with the many of same picture characteristics as LG’s more expensive OLED TVs. OLED can reproduce perfect black, incredible contrast, and vivid colors. The new TV does not support HDR but should still be a decent upgrade for most living rooms.
Compared to last year’s HD OLED, EG9100 comes packed with LG’s latest webOS 2.0 operating system, an updated Magic Remote, a faster processor, support for HEVC decoding (up to 60fps), and a silver design. It is still curved and has 3 HDMI ports.
The 55” 55EG9100 is shipping now in the US and will be available very soon in Europe.
