Shortly after Insignia introduced the first 4K Roku TVs, TCL has launched a total of six 4K TVs ranging from 43 to 65 inches built on the Roku OS. There is access to 4K content from Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, and more.
TCL launches six 4K Roku TVs
Chinese TCL has partnered with Roku to integrate the Roku operating system into its TVs. Last year, TCL launched HD models and now it is adding six Ultra HD models to the line-up. These TVs are capable of streaming in 4K quality.
- “The time is right to bring these new 4K TVs to consumers as the 4K market has matured quickly over the last year, with new standards set in place and 4K content creation increasing,” said Chris Larson, vice president, sales and marketing, TCL. “TCL is thrilled to bring 4K TCL Roku TV models to consumers that incorporate one of the best combinations of picture quality, content, ease of use, and value in the market today. The 4K TCL Roku TVs will make great Ultra HD content easily accessible for all consumers.”
The new TCL S-series TVs will include 55” 55US5800 and 65” 65US5800. The premium P130 series will offer an enhanced remote with a headphone jack and voice search. The P130 series will be available in 43” 43UP130, 50” 50UP130, 55” 55UP130, and 65” 65UP130. TCL says that all six TVs include quad-core processors.
There is access to 4K content from Amazon Video, Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Ultraflix and more from Roku’s app platform. More than 3000 apps are available. There are also HDMI 2.0 (with HDCP 2.2) ports for connected 4K media or disc players.
All of the TVs are based on 60Hz LCD panels with backlit LED. The TVs do not support HDR processing. Picture quality is identical on the two ranges.
